Asecco 02

In cooperation with Asseco Business Solutions Thoreb has supplied a system for 178 buses to the public traffic authority KZK GOP in Katowice, in the Silesian region of Poland. Katowice, which is the second largest business centre in Poland, has more than 2.5 million inhabitants within its urban zone. With several coal mines and steel works, the unemployment is one of the lowest in Poland.

Tracking the Vehicles

All vehicles included in the project have Thoreb’s vehicle computer installed. The drivers start the day, by logging into the system. Thereafter the vehicle computer automatically gets the driver assignment from the central system. No other action is needed by the driver. The vehicle’s position, assignment and schedule adherence are continuously sent to the central system, to be used by other parts of KZK GOP system, such as journey planner. Since an alarm button is connected to the vehicle computer, a signal can be sent to the traffic managers, in case of an emergency.

With Thoreb’s system installed in the buses, it is easy to know at all times, where all buses are located.
